I was playing with a story generator, and came up with this. Kinda crazy:
Setting: submarine / below the surface
Character(s): a pack of killer ninjas, a dinosaur with a bad attitude
Problem: they were out of food
Action taken: use stun gun
Outcome: epic fail
Resolution: they were never seen again
Time travel or Jurassic Park type scenario?
What kind of dinosaur? Dinosaurs went from little things the size of a chicken to 100 ton monstrosities. Plant eater or meat eater?
I was thinking about all the chaos in an enclosed space.
An enclosed space limits the size / type of dinosaur.
I would go for accidental time travel.
Resolution: Scientists discover ninja throwing weapons embedded in 70 million year old coprolites(fossilized dino poop)...
Since the dinosaurs were intelligent enough to build spaceships and escape from Earth before the extinction-level asteroid hit that wiped out the non-believers, it's not a stretch for them to return to Earth to rescue useful creatures from our current time just before the next extinction-level asteroid hit.
Much as a British officer might be in charge of Ghurkas in an aircraft, so a Dinosaur officer might end up in charge of Ninjas in a submarine.

BEMs that are literally space squid cause the dinosaur extinction. One of them is marooned on earth and surrounded by Velociraptors which it shoots just as the Chicxulub asteroid is dropped to kill him off.
Sixty million years later paleontologists dig up fossils riddled with bullets, which leads to a space race to find the BEM asteroid base. Which is full of frozen dinosaurs.
Did the space squid have planetary origins? I'd find it hard to imagine them developing bullets otherwise.

Yes. IIRC they were from outside the solar system, militaristic and continued their fratricidal war here. Weapons and habitat were designed around the fact they were originally water dwellers and lacked the skeleton needed to handle heavy recoiling hand weapons. Its been a few years, I would have to reread it give you more info.
My money's on the ninja, because it is well known that only a ninja can kill another ninja.

The specially trained cops who murdered Jean Charles de Menezes on behalf of Cressida Dick fired bullets at the victim's head at point blank range but the majority missed.
(Then they destroyed the train's security footage to hide their embarrassment).

IIRC at the time one requirement of being a firearms officer was never having held a firearms license. Because people interested in committing murder for the government shouldn't be interested in competency with the tool or some such rationalization.
Further, losing evidence to ensure no prosecution is a time honored tradition. See Epstein's suicide, Jean Luc Brunel's suicide, Theresa May losing the Westminster Pedophile Dossier for the 2nd time & becoming Prime Minister shortly after, etc.

Character(s): Ship AI, the princess, killer android(s), a heroic character
Item: one or more derelict vessels
Problem: two quarreling beings/governments
Action taken: throw a dinner plate
Outcome: saved the hostages
Resolution: he / she / they decided to stay
