High I'm not sure if this is the proper place to post this question. Is there a way to find out the number of male students in a small town High School? Or anywhere from a small town to a big town? I'm needing the info for a story I'm working on.

If you are talking about a real high school in a real town, there is a chance that they have a web site and that the website will have demographic information on the student body.
Barring that, here is a link to US census age distribution data.
http://www.censusscope.org/us/chart_age.html
It has percentage data by age group and sex.
Unfortunately the high school age range is 14-18 and that split in the data across two groups that extend beyond the high school age range, 10-14 and 15-19.
However, you probably wouldn't be too far off just to use the 15-19 age group.
Using this, if you know the total population that the town in your story is supposed to have, you can use the above census data to approximate how many high school aged kids of each gender the town should have.
Of course, if your town is big enough to support more than one high school then it gets more complicated.
It is going to depend a lot by what you consider a small town. I doubt if most split details by gender, but that can be assumed to be about 50:50 male:female in most places (my local is 48% male, 52% female, 0% undecided) and there will generally be a number of students given for the high school.
Find the area you want and look up the local ISD, they will usually have a lot of detail.
My small town. 25 kids per year, therefore 48 high school males. City population about 1000.
You probably want to look at medium sized - a small ISD in this area is way less than the size above.
Most US schools now have what's called a school report card, it has study population information on ti, how good that os to you will depend. In the one linked look at the top right hand corner for student numbers.

This website offers a lot of information about schools. If you know what town you are looking for, it is easy to use. If you are looking for information to create your own fictional town, you will need to find one that is similar in size.
