The idea of a canoe-jacking is pretty strange in itself. That the perp was identified from the front bumper of his truck, which bumper he left at the scene, is icing on the cake.

I remember a Fox news article from about 2000 I think it was, where the headline was, "Woman attempts to kill her husband with a squirrel".
The article was from America and every bit as amusing as the headline made it out to be. I doubt America is alone in it's possession of idiots.
I suspect we lead the world. However, there are other contenders in unusual places. In the 1960's Singapore went thru a mass hysteria - they thought everyone's penis was shrinking - I suspect there is probably a story on SOL about the subject.
