OK., first I have to say that for some of you, my idea of story would be unrealistic for some of you, thus I seriously doubt that anyone would ever consider writing it properly. It has basically mixture of ideas taken from some TV series, video games and even other stories from this side – especially written by saddletramp1956 . A lot of plot points is quite epic, bombastic even. Not masterwork, if anyone tried to write this, but quite enjoyable novel still.
But to the point:
Main Character (MC) would be about 30tish man who lost nearly everything. He had nice future before him, but then he was accused of a killing by some agents and sentenced to prison. Of course wife divorced him and rest of family and most of friends disinherited him, plus lost job, home etc. After few years he was on parole, but forced to stay and live in small rural american town. Crappy job, lack of contact with children (wife was pregnant by time of his arrest, thus he's never seen them) and ban of leaving joined with feeling of injustice makes him cynical, spiteful SOB.
One day MC gets a package from his recently deceased cellmate. He was former enforcer of Mexican cartel, who deserted stealing big sum of money. Planned to leave, but after he accidentally killed innocent man during escaping, he felt remorse and gave back all stolen money to police in return for comfortable life in prison.
In package MC finds a letter, where cellmate informs him, that he actually hid quite a potent part of stolen funds, along with all documents needed for creating new identity – including coupon for plastic surgery. He hid it planning to start a new life, but couldn't reach it before being arrested. Knowing all about MC's situation, he decides to leave all of his preparation package to him.
But reaching it won't be easy. Package is hidden, and it's coordinates are divided and hidden in different places. MC's gets only first part of coordinates, along with tips where to find the next set.
At first, MC decides against it, knowing that he'd have to break rules of parole, thus risking going back to prison. But after a REALLY bad day, culminated by his boss's mockery, MC finally snaps, deciding that he stopped giving a damn for US and it's law. He leaves the same day, seriously mauling his former boss and stealing his ride.
That is a beginning of quick, explosive journey that'd lead MC through few states, firstly in US, then in Mexico. But of course his journey is anything but easy. He's chased not only by the police, but also Mexican Cartels bent of recapturing at least part of stolen money, and enforcers of state agency linked to MC's unjust imprisonment. He'd also have some allies. First would be estranged adoptive sister of his cellmate looking for infos of him; in Mexico they'd be joined by officer of special police unit, bent on finding data of cartels activities.
In the meantime, MC's ex-wife would suddenly, after years of refusals try to contact him in some serious matter – maybe sth about children? Finding out that he's left in unknown way, she hires some PI to get to him. With his, and also estranded MC's brother' help she gradually finds out that there was something wrong with her ex-husband's sentencing from the beginning…….
Both plots would be led separately, before eventual meeting late in the story – probably.
While all that plot above may look like sth from 80's action movies, I think it'd have some potential. There'd be some searching and detective work combined with car chasings, shootings, escapes, hell I even though about using AC-130 Spectre to help MCs (idea from recent CoD game). Of course there'd be sth about feelings- thanks to influence of his companions MC would gradually thaw and remeber what is empathy.
Don't know how long would be MC's journey, or even how it would end – would he leave America, go back to prison, even rekindle relationship with ex-wife? Who knows? But I know for sure that it'd be one hell of a ride, don't you think?
As I said, I do not have much hope that anyone would take a challenge to write sth like that. But feel free to use some of ideas in your own stories.
