I had this idea a while ago due to my enjoyment of stories where two people who are very different end up working out their differences and end up together.
I see it as a somewhat long story about a famous woman (rock star/singer) and an "average joe" soldier. Perhaps they grew up together but went two different directions in life. Told from both their perspectives, they are both on "tours" - her touring the world in support of her new album and him serving a tour in Afghanistan, they were high school sweethearts but she chose her music career over him, which prompted him to join the military, but they still love each other, think about each other, and start communicating via email. I was hopeful that the story would have them reconcile, maybe she comes to perform as part of the USO and it rekindles their relationship, maybe he gets injured on patrol, and at the end of the story they finally are together, married, and expecting?
