This story was written long before the term "Cancel Culture" ever came into existence. Protagonist is a very successful, up and coming consultant, about to reap the rewards of his efforts (and make partner?). Just at that time, he's accused of fathering a baby in Florida, gets vilified, loses his position at his firm (or maybe throws it away?) and strikes out on his own. It turns out the baby was fathered by his identical twin, who has a grudge against his twin brother.
Any thoughts? There are a few stories that are like this,and I remember pretty much liking them all.
