This has been nagging me in the back of my mind, classic case of "once upon a time long ago I read a story".
What I remember is that it had the characteristics of a DoOver story. Somewhere along the plot the protagonist sets up a TV show where he has interns running around as part of corporate development, from building shelters to acrobatics in orbit. And - if I'm correct - in the end the protagonist goes off the rails with science to switch to a universe where his wife still lives.
Any ideas?
