These are 2 stories I loved and was following but hard times hit and I lost online connection for a few years and at the same time i lost my saved copy of these stories. I would very much like to read these again and see where they might have gone.
1st story:
what i remember, a military man takes a train to this remote mining town to do some surveys and while there he falls in love with this girl who is under-aged (like 14 or 15 i think) the town is accepting of this kind of thing and they eventually get married. I remember there is some turmoil and fighting about something but not exactly why, and he brings some of his military buddies to the town to find love.
** I got the sense that this was maybe in the 40's sometime and I think I remember it making clear it was telling the story of how he met his wife and only love many years later.
2nd story:
What I remember a guy in England?(I think) wins the lotto and ends up taking this woman and her daughter as his slaves. They end up getting him many other slaves. I remember the story was rather large and they had moved to somewhere (i think in France just across the channel) I also remember his slaves training for security with the military and old friends of his. I remember something about a music concert but no real details about it.
It has been several years since I read these stories and I was hoping to find them again. I am grateful for any help anyone can provide.
