I should know the name of this because I read it every once in a while. The story starts with the MC sitting on the roof of his parents' farm house. A spaceship lands in the field in front of him. An alien gets out of the ship and promptly falls dead. The MC proceeds to become captain of the ship. It is unfinished. Thanks for any help that may be forthcoming.
