Not too old a story

pcObelix ๐Ÿšซ

Parents divorced, and male son is living with father. Part of that is that he has to attend high school for the last year and not move forward to college.

Leans dance, flute, photography, to keep himself engaged at high school.

He is also concurrently attending college.

Interesting. The link said you'd posted, but when I went to the thread, I couldn't see it. Now can. Some sort of bug -excuse me, feechur- of the website.

probably a cache call issue from your system or an upstream server.

Yes, our host has explained it before. The forum posts are cached on the back end. It sometimes causes delays in posts showing up.

Lazeez said it should just be five minutes, but I frequently see longer delays. The most interesting thing is that it doesn't affect every thread.

Try switching from 'flat view' to 'threaded view'. The missing posts always seem to show up. But if you switch back in less than the five or twelve (my record) minutes necessary, the posts will go missing again.

always on threaded view...not a big deal...couldn't remember the previous discussion on the issue...

I've made a temporary post, then deleted it after. It usually brings out the post that did not show.

@awnlee jawking

twelve (my record) minutes

A thread post made at 20:56 UK time didn't show up in flat view until 21:26, but when I switched to threaded view I could see it much earlier (although I had to hunt for it, since it didn't show up at the end).

It's all a mystery to me :-(

Try doing a manual refresh on the page. In most browsers, that is F5.

That is what I do most times, long ago learned habit from the era when page refreshes were often not automatic.

@Mushroom

I worked in IT for 20 years so a refresh of a page is one of the first things I do. In this case it didn't change a thing and is still happening. 20 plus minutes after someone posts and I still can't see what they posted...yours I can see at close to 15 minutes :)

Can't find the other thread on this subject to see what, if any solution was made...

UPDATE - Found other thread on this subject and it just said that the page was "cached" for about 5 minutes...just a tad less than the 20 minutes or so I've seen :)

I went to reply to a post which said to refresh to see missing posts. I was not logged in, so had to log in first. Now I've logged in, I can't see that post and refresh does not surface it either. So I am not posting this as a reply.

ETA the refresh after submitting this post has surfaced Mushroom's post again.
