I was reading BigGuy33's story, 'You're Fired' and he mentioned using MM's idea. I have read 'Let Go', and it is excellent in my opinion. I think I have also read MM's story, but can not find it in my archives.

I have egg on my face, it was the story. I must have deleted it, as I had to download it again.
Been there, done that and if it's any consolation, following a breakfast mishap I have egg on my shorts.
May not be an MM story, but ISTR that one of the early DiD (Damsels in Distress) stories had an MC who's mother was majority stockholder/CEO of a major oil firm who ended up firing the MC's father/firm president ...
That's "Shiloh" by the Scot, and that's just a subplot. Very unlikely that's what OP is looking for.
