The scene goes like this:
I think she's childless and married a man with grown children, they always called her by her name, but suddenly one of them says "but mom", "aw, mom" or "yes, mom" and she starts crying and runs to her bedroom. Father arrives and asks what happened, kid says "I just said mom..." and she starts crying again. She says she never thought somebody would ever call her mom.

I'm glad you found what you were looking for. If you want something thematically similar, check out the "Needles & Delayney" series by Todd_d172. Although it happens in the 2nd or 3rd story, start with the first: An Angry Man. Each one is better than the one before, but you'll want to read them in order. Great stuff!
