mother and father killed by assassin but girl survived. people go after her but she is very smart and knows martial arts. she also has an older friend who protects her. they go to several safe places but are hounded by an elite team who is out to kill her. If I remember correctly, a senator or a high ranking government person is involved. I can not remember the name of the story or the author but it has several chapters. thank you.....
That sounds a bit like part of the plot of the Saint Clair series by Todd_d172, although there are a few discrepancies. The parts that match are mostly in the last story.
