I've been looking for a simliar story to 'the grim reaper' by rlfj.
Either sports wise or military wise. Ever since I read it I've always given donations to vets and would like to get some more good reads on the topic.
Thank you~

Well, his 'A Fresh Start' has a portion about the MC's time in the military, and then military decisions and actions scattered through the rest of the story and the sequel 'A Fresh Start Epilogue'.
For a totally over the top, suspend ALL disbelief version try the Lady in Red stories by HardDaysKnight.
Sport stories:
Jay Cantrell's "The Outsider" and the sequel "A Flawed Diamond" are very good and contain a lot of baseball.

Don Lockwood's "Dance of a Lifetime" contains ice dancing (corrected). https://storiesonline.net/a/Don_Lockwood
Cold Creek's "Defenceman" series
https://storiesonline.net/a/Cold_Creek
Rev. Cotton Mather's "Playing the Game" series

Brendan Buckley's "Path to Glory" is well worth a look as well. Football and golf in this one.

These should keep you busy for a day or two.
Edit: Corrected C&P mistake and wrong sport.
Don Lockwood's "Dance of a Lifetime" contains figure skating. https://storiesonline.net/a/Jay_Cantrell
DoaL is not about figure skating. Its about ice dancing. Entirely different sports. You might as well say its about hockey, since both are done skating on ice.
I also don't understand the addition of Jay Cantrell's story area on SOL to the item directly under and by proximity related to Dance of a Lifetime.
The first one was a copy and paste error and the second one was half mistake, half misremembering it.
A nice do-over with some military action by the MC is Twice Lucky II: Time for a change by author Joe J.
His longest story, about football, is already on the top fifty list of classic long stories. There are other stories he wrote which contain high school football elements, and canoeing/camping. He is a good choice for stories of the type requested by the first poster. I think there was also a military story set in the Greenies universe by Fox. Is it ok to say just Fox, or should I say Douglas Fox? I don't remember any other authors whose pen names include Fox, other than Douglas Fox. I better check the author lists to see if any start with Fox. There are lots of Dragons and a few other animals, but I don't remember a lot of foxes.
Later, there are three Fox or fox related authors:
Foxx

They haven't written since 2007 or earlier so I hope I am forgiven for not remembering them.
I hear that story "Mayhem in a Pill" is a pretty good read and has both some high school football as well as military elements in the story.
But the bastard takes too long to post the next chapter. What the hell guy... you gotta get on that!

I agree. MiaP is a very good story. I too wish the chapters would come faster. But I can't complain. I have been stuck trying to write my next chapter for two months.
Wait a sec. Isn't MiaP your story, shinerdrinker?
