Civil War era, 'western'
Family sends 16 (?) year old away to keep him from being forced to serve in war.
Has adventures.
Comes upon a stagecoach robbery. Each side killed the other, so no survivors.
A drummer had a nice boxed set of the newest guns (gun porn?) and there was a lot of gold being moved.
He buried most of the gold, took the guns and left.
Later met an Indian woman who was widowed shortly after marriage and was having a hard time.
Traveled together, became close, became a couple.
Found an abandoned farm, with crops ready to harvest and moved in, with permission.
