Tried search but could not find. Main character goes back to younger self. Was supposed to visit mother and never return. Originally thought was dads girlfriends demand before marriage.
Found out she wasn't like he remembered and liked her daughter a lot. Stayed with dad.
Only other thing I remember was late in the story rhere was talk of trying to stap 9/11.
If this is the one I think it is his mother lived in Seattle along with his brother. Father was living in a trailer park at the time he went back. He was really into reading sci-fi stories he got from an uncle. Now to remember the story name.
