I thought this was an Ernest Bywater story but could not find it.

A guy takes over a farm and reassembles it to it's former size after it was split up by inheritance issues. I seem to remember a city slicker trying to farm part next to the farm and contaminating the organic land with chemicals. Somehow he gets that land also and adds it to tha larger property.

Another one of your many good stories. I particularly liked all the legal maneuvering that went on. His courtship was pretty good too.
