Steven seven stories

Jonthorn13 ๐Ÿšซ

Hey there so I loved Steven seven stories but recently couldn't find them. I ended up emailing him and discovered that he's terminally ill. He's going to be dead soon and requested the deletion of his stories from here and he deleted them from his own computers so his family couldn't find them after he passed. In talking to him I mentioned I regretted not downloading them and he said he hoped his fans did download them and continued to read and enjoy them. He said anyone who has them can share them discretely as far as he is concerned. So just putting this out there, if anyone has any downloaded Steven seven stories id love for you to message me if you'd like to share them.

Sorry to hear of his immanent passing. Can understand his desire to remove but I did not think they were that extreme. Wishing him Grace & Peace!

I did not think they were that extreme.

What mattered to him is what his family would think of them.

Jonthorn13 ๐Ÿšซ

Exactly and I totally and understand and respect his wishes. If he hadn't told me that he would not mind readers sharing the stories between themselves I would not have tried to search them out either.

I don't know if they are the same stories, never read any of them but there are stories on ASSTR under that author name.

Curious, I searched but did not find.

Edit: Someone sent me a link. There are five of his stories on that site and I don't know why my search did not find them. Look for Eastern Rose, and her "Guest Stories".
I thought he had a lot of stories on this site - before he deleted them - but there are only the five there.

There is more than one link to that page. One is older than the other - try both. The newer one has ten stories

Search "Steven seven guest isabella asstr" on google

Looking at some of the search results there, I'm reminded why I have written that site off. Artie deleted his stories over nine years ago and - apart from the occasional check to see if he had returned - I mostly use the site as a test bed for various search methods.
btw, DuckDuckGo also returned useable results for that search string. I wonder why "asstr" worked as a keyword while "site:www.asstr.org" (and omitting isabella + guest) did not.

I know, and "Field Work - Our Lady of the Bodega" is one of the best. Don't mess with Peta.

The ASSTR search has been "broken" for years.

It actually is pretty much an abandoned site, and even their last news update is almost 4 years old. A lot of the site is actually gone, probably a result of the server crash from 2017.

And out of curiosity, I just looked up who owns it. It was last registered in 2017, and expires in December of this year. So if anybody wants something from it, grab it now. Because at the end of the year it might be gone.

And after looking in multiple databases, it seems that it is owned by Google. It seems to have started by somebody in Canada, and if I have to guess it was probably one of the many companies that Google bought out over the last several years.

But if I remember, 2017 is about when the search feature on the site broke, and things have only gotten worse since then. I bet the owner had many IP sites, and that was just one of them. And they sold out everything to Google, and just walked away.

Now they are stuck with it, and likely just waiting for the registration to expire before walking away themselves.

What databases are you looking in? IIRC, ASSTR had moved to google groups, which may explain why Google appears to own it.

I used various ICANN databases to look up the information for who owned the domain. I used both the ICANN.ORG one, as well as several others. And in each one the registrar went back to Google.

Registrar Information
Name: Google LLC
IANA ID: 895
Abuse contact email: registrar-abuse@google.com
Abuse contact phone: tel:+1.8772376466

But I find it interesting that the last updates not only to the registry information and the site itself were in 2017. I had tried a while back to get some assistance on my own page on their site, and never got a response, and that was well over a year ago.

That kind of makes sense if they were using Google hosting.

@Mushroom

My form of search was feeding the string

site:www.asstr.org steven seven

into the search engine of my choice, I did not rely on the site's own capabilities because they are irretrievably broken.

My second attempt was finding the entry for a random author, going "up" a level to list the authors' directory and looking for "Steven" (both lowercase and uppercase). The reason *that* search failed is that those stories are accessed via another author's stories.

Still, the first search should have located them - the string I was looking for was in the document.

I found few of Steven seven stories on Asstr... Look for LordWalters under the Authors tab.

I liked his writings. They were crude and beyond the pale. Not many write like him nowadays. There's always a soft edge to protagonists even in extreme stories.
