I vaguely remember a story I read early on SOL that I only remember flashes of. A teen boy finds an old female friend attempting suicide and saves her. She's pregnant, and ends up moving into his house. Maybe some drama with her family, I remember his mother was reluctant to take her in, but ultimately does?
It was thematically similar to A Friend in Need by Heathen57 and Heroes by Don Lockwood, but not either of those. I'm pretty sure the story predates either of those, and I'm sure part of the reason I'm having trouble identifying it is that a lot of the codes system wasn't in place back then.
It is really bugging me that I can't find this story, so any help would be appreciated!
