I can only remember the start. M/C is elderly man stuck in convalescent hospital after wife dies and his health failing. Staff are constantly stealing from patients. He guards his tablet but while out of his room the charger is stolen. He is offered a way out and a new life.
I read this far fairly recently (last 6-12 months?) Never got further. Unsure if the story just died there or I got sidetracked.
