I've recently re-read Lazlo's main John Carter series and the description here doesn't match. Don't recall it from any of the Happy Harry sub-series either.
the guy was in college or just finished college. he wakes up in the hospital and misses his flight home. i think he is given powers or seduction/something similar. I think he stays at a hotel a women and has sex with her. She upgrades his ticket home to first class. Towards the end of the story he goes to a strip club and rescues a women and or takes over a strip club
