I can't remember the story or series. It takes place in GB. Man is divorced and ex is lying to kids to turn them against him.
One scene is a meeting taking place in a mall where the kids are told of the lying.

That sounds like something from Denham Forrest, although it could also be from when he called himself The Wanderer.
It s five o clock somewhere by as mentioned Denham Forrest. But that theme ispretty common.
The problem with "It's five o'clock somewhere" is that it takes place in the south of France.
I did think of QM's "Of Loss and Remembrance" but rereading the first chapter ruled that out - the lies were not by the Ex, and the kid's minds weren't poisoned against him.
It might be one of JPB's stories. I need to check the title.
The story I was thinking of is "Rob and Amy," but that takes place in the US. So I'm stumped.
