Man estranged from family, has relationship with woman who has a daughter with a limp?
His own daughter discovers him playing guitar in the street and recognizes the guitar, takes him to meet his other 2 daughters. The 2 oldest daughters designs lingerie, the youngest play cello? I think it's based in England.
I have tried searching for it, but I just can't find it.
I have read the story the OP asked about over on the L site and that is not it. Sorry, I can't remember the name of either the story or the writer.
I've read this story a few times a long time ago on lit might be one of Dg hear's stories but not sure
I know I read it on lit so if you read it on here I would cross reference authors that have published on both sites it might narrow down your search criteria
That would be great, I've tried finding it there too without success. If I remember correctly the author had something like 20-30 stories published here.

Since several people remember reading it, the search would be much easier if we had some names, either character names, location names, business names, etc. It's difficult searching for vague plot concepts.
There are 41 SOL stories containing the words 'cello', 'guitar' and 'limp'. None of them appear to be an obvious match but it's difficult to tell because when selecting one of those stories, clicking on 'Story Details' still doesn't work. (It seemed to die when emergency measures were taken against the slow server response).

If it's the same story I remember reading he was beaten up and left for dead in another city, He was taken in by a nurse or nurses after his recovery. Maybe partial amnesiac.
What you're thinking of is probably Ernest Bywater's Hal - the Beginning but I doubt that's the story wbeetle is looking for. Good story though.

Both Ernest Bywater's and Always Raining's stories are great, but neither is the one I'm looking for
I just did a search for estranged, father, guitar. cello, england and came up with 3 stories. Was one of the girls a lesbian. The story that that fits is Karen and Laci by Letoria
The others at A Well Lived Life by Micheal Loucks
And Summer Camp by Nick Scipio
Those were the only stories that had all of those words.
