a boy/youth gains mental powers fixes coins to mint condition and helps family with money by fixing up tractors and other machinery for uncle.
I have been searching a long time to find this story again, I was sure i would come across it again but a complete failure after reading a lot of other stories.

Thanks I would never have found it again as i rarely read incomplete stories and would not have read this as i still remember the rest of the series quite well as i have read it a couple of time.

I agree but for some reason i thought it was a lot longer and more repairs as well as coins but that may be another story. What tricks our memories play on us.
