Sounds like Ashley by Uncle Jim.
Except there's no cabin, it's a farm house, and he doesn't take here there, she's dumped on the farm road and left for dead. She manages to crawl to his front porch.
Its not Everett Mountain either, I really don't know where it was posted, but it was a long time ago. I checked renpet, as I thought it sounded like it might be one of his but it wasn't
