Teenage boy wakes up in a strange room and he solves game like puzzles to unlock stuff in the room like a bed, fridge, shower, every so often the game asks him to choose from a group of weapons. He is teleported to a place where he has to fight a alien with one of the weapons he picks. Later on a girl from his school appears. They are teleported to a ruined city and he has to escort here to a blinking dot on their map.

Most 'smart phones' (as in smart alec phones) have an auto word correction program that does all sort of weird things on you. Heck, there are websites dedicated to messages mangled by the phones.
Gabriel Iglesias, the comedian known as Fluffy, has a great riff on this. He was doing a show in San Jose, California and after was walking back to his hotel when some fans pulled him into a bar for some drinks. When he staggered back into his room he sent his live-in girlfriend a text saying he had stopped at the Cement Bar. She was all happy that he had gone to Cinnabon. His iPhone lied for him.
