abdchan1 ๐Ÿšซ

Man and his company get contract to build a space station. Discusses how different to build a commercial station as opposed to a government built station.

Already ruled out, but to further add to why A New Past doesn't meet the criteria: The MC doesn't get contracted to build the space station. He self-funds the construction, and has contracts drafted out so others can use HIS company's space station.

Thanks for the suggestions but none of the stories by Charlie Foxtrot was the one I am looking for. It might be a story that is out-of-print.

@abdchan1

Do you recall approximately when it was written?

abdchan1 ๐Ÿšซ

I think I read it about 15 - 20 years ago. It will be a long shot whether or not this story can be found. Thanks to all for any suggestions.

It's probably not an erotic based book. If that's wrong, let us know.

There have been several sci-fi books along those lines I'm aware of.

John Ringo: Live Free or Die (Troy Rising)

Robert Heinlein: Delilah and the Space Rigger (Harriman Enterprises Space Station One)

Just to name a couple. Would need more details of the story to pin it down.

Thanks for those suggestions but I have all of John Ringo's and Robert Heinlein's books in my collection already and they are not the story I am looking for. However, now that you reminded me about these stories I think I will re-read them. In the story I am looking for the, the company owner really gets into how building the space station commercially was easier under OSHA than the government's boondoggle of flunkies. There was a solar storm that forced all of the workers into a storm shelter built in the middle of some water tanks.
As the book was a paperback, it is probably out of print long ago.

Was ther a medical leaning to the story, perchance?
