Looking for any story with a guy or boy that can stop time
A potentially good one has just started: 'Time Manipulation Mind Control' by mypenname3000.

There's the John D. MacDonald book, The Girl, the Gold Watch, and Everything. I think the movie might be on youtube.
I seem to recall a story about time being stopped except for a brother and sister who end up walking (?) all over the world. They find a few other people they manage to bring into motion with them. One scene they found a school official (principal?) 'in the act' of sexually abusing a student. They re-arranged things so that when time resumed, the official would either be in serious pain or get caught, I don't recall which.
Dang, now I want to read the story again. Anyone have an idea which one it might be?
I'm pretty sure that was one of Young Thinker's stories
I went through the stories of his that I have and found a couple of possibilities, but it wasn't the ones I thought. (Coins and The Rock series. I'll have to keep looking. I think the 'magic item' was a ring or pair of rings found in a pond(?).
I have lost track of who has been "outed" as being on AssTr and who has not, but https://www.asstr.org/files/Authors/Young_Thinker/ could be a resource. I don't see anything like "coins" there.

My First Touch by Young Thinker
I Found It!
It is indeed one of Young Thinker's stories.
Quest for Peace from 2010
It had nothing to do with rings, rocks, boxes, or ponds.
That sounds right. Not one that I have lying around so I couldn't come up with the title.
Not 'can stop time', but there is a Larry Niven short where the MC summons a demon and requests time to be stopped: Convergent Series, available amongst other places in a collection of the same name which also contains the excellently named Rotating Cylinders and the Possibility of Global Causality Violation and a zombie story Night on Mispec Moor
'Convergent Series' was a kick! I remember 'Night on Mispec Moor', which is a bit of a different take on how zombies come about, but not the other story you mentioned.
not the other story you mentioned.
Rotating Cylinders... is set in an interstellar civilisation at war with another, where a scientist suggests that trying to capture a large structure located fairly nearby. This structure is one of a few examples of abandoned large rotatable cylinders, and he has determined that it is possible to plot a closed path in space-time around/near such a rotating massive cylinder (i.e., it's a time machine). He surmises that this could be used to end the war, and it works, but not how he thought.
I'm surprised nobody's yet mentioned the Wendy's Worlds stories by Old Man with a Pen
Do they involve time-stopping as a major plot element? I thought they were mostly time-travel.

Oops, my bad.
ETA: I deleted my post highlighting WW, which has orphaned AJ's post quoting mine
I don't know which one but one of the watch's had the ability to stop time, but if i remember correctly it was only for a short time.
