Thank you, I really enjoyed the story. It was reminiscent of Zane Gray's "Majesty's Rancho" . Need to find more westerns like this. JTRyder wrote a great one here called The Legend of Eli Crow which is also a great story.

:) Try anything else by Zane Gray. I've heard it alleged that he had one plot he kept rewriting, until about half way through his career when someone called him on it, after which he had two plots. (Note, heard from a Louis L'Amour fan.)
Thank you, I have read The Man from Eagle Creek too. I even like the western time travel stories like "Washed Up" and "I Fell Through" and all the susequent additions to these stories. Aubie56 has westerns too which are good.
Aubie56 you got the mention because your stories are good and too numerous to mention by name. Keep up the good work as I for one appreciate your skill and effort.
Thanks, I'm way ahead of you and have read every single Zane Grey book, every single Louis L'Amour book (including his short stories) and every single William Johnstone book, (his son has been writing and publishing under his father's name and is not anywhere as good as his father who has passed away). I was depressed when Louis L'Amour died, then it was when William Johnstone died. I hope Aubie56 keeps healthy.
Donald Hamilton wrote a few westerns and though I haven't read those, if they are anything like the Matt Helm novels then they would be good quality.
The Big Country is probably the best known but there were 5 more.
