I'm lost on this one

I am looking for a story about a IT guy from a small division of a company that runs Novell while the rest of the division runs Microsoft. He is attending the annual Novell user group meeting in Salt Lake City and meets a lady and they start a relationship. Turns out she is looking for a Novell guy, but the problem is he would be in her chain of command. I could go on but I think that is enough.

I have tried every combination of key words I can think of in advanced search but can't find it. Does this strike a bell with any of you?

Never mind. It seems Windows search is better than SOL's. I went to my downloaded library and just searched for 'Novell' and 'Utah', and it popped right up.

Since the stories are on ASSTR, I'm not surprised that the SOL search didn't find it.

IIRC it was on here at one time, but has been removed, along with all his other stories.

Michael Lindgren wrote a somewhat similar story called "Fringe Benefits", it is Premier-Only nowadays.

Apart from Crossroads, the Wiseguy story which I liked best was called "In The Moment". Have a look at "For Sharon" as well.
