Longish story, 100k plus, I think. British story and I'm pretty sure a British author. Guy's wife is cheating with a gym instructor, he sets up a competing gym and breaks him. Wife is looking to set up a boutique and wants to sell a family cottage to get the money. The guy arranges to freeze and break a pipe, which causes water damage that isn't covered by insurance.
I don't think the author was Denham Forest, The Wanderer, Tedbiker or Texrep although it sounds sort of like one of their stories.
