He was buried under an avalanche of punctuation marks.

Since his stories aren't, as of today, on the archival list he is/was active less than five years ago.
As to what happened to him? No idea, probably got busy or lost his muse.

I think his son still uses his account, but outside of the short duration notice in the blog. No more information has been brought out. His son stated at the time, from what I remember, that he planned on finishing his father's unfinished stories. But nothing has been posted since then in the blog portion of the author's page. From what Laz has stated I can only assume the son still uses his dad's account.

edited to add: He is dead. But as long as his son or someone else regularly logs in under his account. The stories will not be archived.

I suspect the son had every intention of publishing more stories, but soon found he wasn't able/qualified to. In that case, if anyone is interested (Ernest, maybe?) they could offer to take a look at the stories, possibly 'polishing' and taking over the stories in order to complete them and honor Golden Mage's reputation.

Although I have taken over and completed stories for others, and also taken over and revised stories for others, it has always been with the approval of the copyright holder before doing so. If an author asked me to finished a story for them, as has happened before, I'll consider it and base a decision on the story and if I think I can do justice to it. I'd do the same for a story where a person inherits the copyright and asks me to finish it. However, I won't grab another's story and just finish it because they left it unfinished.

@Ernest Bywater

Very understandable. At least he had one or more open universes for his stories. Up until now however no writer has been actively writing in the universe as far as I can see.

Understood, and I never assumed you'd necessarily be the one to do this particular dirty deed (yours was just the first name that sprung to mind). Instead, since his son expressed interest in finishing his incomplete stories, but hadn't managed to yet, I thought it made sense for someone to ask whether he might require assistance.

However, it's always difficult working on someone else's stories, especially if the author in question gets little to nothing out of the exchange. I'm not sure I could do it, but I thought it was worth suggesting, if nothing else.

His page no longer has a link for contacting anyone by Email. So I am doubtful if the message system would work with his son. As I pointed out at least he seemed to have made at least one universe in which other writers could post stories.

Never mind then. There's little change his stories will ever be completed in that case.
