I read a story a while back about a guy who participated in a sport with battle/fighting machines. The machines was designed to be driven/operated with a him inside. The fighting took place in a mockup town(?), and I seem to remember that the machines was self made.

Does anybody have any idea if stories such as these are existing somewhere on the Net, and if so where can I find them?

(I searched for them my self, but get only "no cigar"...)

I remember a story about a warrior similar to Mad Max. Except he uses his debit card and the balance stays the same and he doesn't notice. A girl on a bike needs help and off he goes. He gets to the station under attack and it is filled with products which have his picture. Turns out the girl is his daughter and his wife run the truck stop or station. He doesn't remember any of this but still goes out to fight the bad guys. Had to be on story line or Literoctica. hope this is some help

'Fighting Machine' by Ka Hmnd is a short story about a man who makes his living as a hacker, but his hobby is building fighting mechs which he then uses gladiator style.
