MC is a young man who is bullied/cajoled into spending the night camping out at a specific spot to prove he isn't afraid of the mistlight, an urban legend in that area. He ends up getting kicked back in time 150 or so years to before that area was settled and developed. He starts to make a home for himself in a riverside cliff cave. A young neighboring girl who had always had a crush on him ends up following him back in time a few weeks later. Months later, their families end up finding a journal dating back to the founding of their town that was written by them.
