Young teen MC saves teen female from abuse (family or foster home) by giving her means to escape the town. Think first to aunt's house and then by bus south.
I believe they get together in the future.
No aliens or space ships or do-over I think, just a male teen with enough wisdom to help. I believe he just moved to the small town recently.
There are a few do-over/alien stories in the similar area, but I do not think this is a do-over.
Small town cops and maybe children's protection are corrupt and in with the drugs/pimps.
Might be an honest newspaper writer that helps with getting the story out so the province can step in.
Might be mistaken on the North bay/Timmins area, but is in northern Ontario, maybe more westerly. May have gotten the towns mixed up from other stories.
