Forum: Lost Stories

I am looking for a story roughly along these lines:

A woman owns a bar/restaurant which is in a popular summer destination. Her daughter helps her run the bar. A guy comes back to town; I think maybe someone in his family passed away and her has a summer house nearby. From memory he was the daughter's first (or maybe each other's first?). I think also one of them signs and one of them plays guitar?

Anyway they have somewhat volatile reunion - she sees him as a rich guy who went away and forgot about her and the town - but ultimately end up reuniting, and I think he buys or invests in the restaurant and the mom moves away to be with her boyfriend or something.

Goin' Fishin' by Marsh Alien has some of those elements, but not all.

I've read this story, but I can't recall a name. IIRC the author has written other romance stories.

It was the guy's dad who passed away, and he is fixing up a lake house which had been unused for years. The woman draws an us/them distinction between locals and the rich people who own lake houses. When she sees his lake house she realizes he's one of "them" and rejects him.

The story is called "Another Last Call" by Cheryl Terra (on other sites also known as MsCherylTerra).
I don't know if the story was ever posted here, it used to be on the other site. However, the author pulled it, probably because they are selling it.

//EDIT: I did some digging, via the Wayback Machine I could find an old posting on the other site, the story was originally called "The Last Time" and was part of the April 2020 monthly contest. Maybe that helps you find it.
The story "Another Last Call" seems to be an improved version of the original story.
