Taking My Spring Break in New England by DelawareDan.
There are several stories - IMO all awful

The premise itself wasn't bad, yet he keeps harping on the same issue, time and again, never progressing much beyond that (i.e. very little actual story arc, instead one continuous, non-progressive soap opera). Just not my particular cup of tea. I kept reading, yet it never got any better, only steadily more tedious!

Same as my feelings about the stories.

Again, an interesting premise, so it's worth trying, just not worthwhile finishing.

There are plenty of 'promising' stories, yet relatively few truly Great ones. And should we at least strive for greatness, even if we never quite reach it ourselves?

Greatness is always a distant goal and one rarely gets there on their first few times. Sometime's not even on their twenty-fifth attempt, yet resting on our laurels never helps reach that particular goal.

And yet, often it's the failed, least successful stories which inspire new authors, as it's so hard duplicating phenomenal writing, yet besting insipid or merely fumbling is a much more achievable goal.

There are a few other takes on the same setup. One is *Surprises" by rlfj.

That, in turn, was inspired by a story by Rck7Card, posted elsewhere.
