Rescue Force?

stuartrobinson ๐Ÿšซ

I've been searching for ages to find a story I read years ago on the site. I don't recall the author or the precise title of the story. It might have been called something like 'Rescue Force' but was basically about a guy who time travelled back to try to stop the rise of the muslim brotherhood. He created an international force of people to respond to disasters and tried to influence countries to be non-radical. Hope you can help

The site named after a river in South America.

The post saying "it doesn't appear to be on the site any longer" preceded the posts where he was told "cry me a river" (or similar) so we can assume he now knows which river.

Correct. I was a bit slow with the 'river' reference, but found it now. Thanks all.

7 to 10 years ago Geoff Wolak had at least 3 websites. IIRC one was about Wales, one about Malta and scuba diving and one about writing.

He also blogged about his travels. Last I recall he wrote about living in Kuala Lumpur.

Now his personal website (geoffwolakwriting.com) shows on a google search but also displays a security risk when clicked on.

His latest work on the River site (Aug '21) is "The Retirement Plan" which details 'retirement' in Thailand with young women.

Maybe that's what he did? Dunno. But he seems to have disappeared from view.

Geoff is married, living in Indonesia and is still writing. He can be followed on FB. He has a series available on the river site, Wilco, Lone Wolf, about a SAS operative.

Yep. That's him, I recognize his picture.

But his profile says he's a retired fiction writer.

So... another dunno.

The last book in the Lone Wolf series was published on Ama on Jan 25th 2025. So maybe he has put his pen down. His last fb post was in April. At this point, I think he writes whenever he gets the itch and doesn't worry about when he publishes.

If I recall correctly, he's listed as that as he published traditionally until he retired (i.e. he didn't retire from SOL. Many on SOL had other careers before first delving in writing fiction.
