Lost Western

I finally bit the bullet and joined SOL. As such I can now download and save some of my favorite stories from the many years I was a free (cheap) user. The problem is that I've forgotten the titles of some of my favorites. I'm going to post information on each as I slowly remember them. This is a short description of the second one whose title I don't remember.
A cowboy's fiancé dumps him for a no good guy. The cowboy leaves town and goes to Texas(?) where he meets a widow rancher and starts to work on her ranch. He finds a buried bag of gold and starts paying to fix more things around the ranch. Of course, the widow and the cowboy fall in love. More people show up, including the former fiancé, and a town grow up around them. Does anyone remember this story?

It sounds like what I remember of Jay Cantrell's The Hillside

I agree with tendertouch, and you probably need to look at Jay Cantrell's other stories as well - that will save you a few queries here.

That's it!! Thank you tendertouch and Didsdate. It's funny, Jay Cantrell is one of my favorite authors here and you are right, I should have checked his stories first. This is the second inquiry I've made and the other one turned out to also be one of his stories "Always on Guard".
My very favorite of his is "The Rise of Azkoval". I wish he would return and continue it.
