Lost in history

mtravellerh ๐Ÿšซ

I remember the story of the guy who was put in a non-historical stone age and did built up a new society with the help of widely unknown sponsors. No, I don't mean John and Argent. Please help.

Several other Cmsix stories have that theme. Some are even finished.

Matthelm has his somewhere in time series.

A quick search for time travel will find a few

I always love the "Some are even finished," line, as his mostly incomplete works have inspired more authors on SOL than any literary masterwork, as he set such a low bar, it's easily clear with ease. ;) Heck, that's how I got started too.

Cmsix was not what I would call an author. rough copy and often unfinished stories. Rather, he was one hell of a storyteller. Reminiscent of the old guy in the tavern spinning yarns or the grandpa telling tales to the grandkids.

@anim8ed

Or more colloquially, a 'yarn spinner', telling a good tale, yet it's more a 'tall-tale' like Paul Bunyan than a serious story. Thus more inspirational than professionally polished.

'The Blind Man' has a few stories that match somewhat.

I know you already have the answer you are looking for, but you may also like Vincent Berg's 'Nowhere ... Like Home' which is a new work-in-progress.

Actually, the first volume was completed on Mar. 3 (I posted "The End" rather than "To Be Continued" from about a week earlier). But, my story was also inspired by Nowhere Man, I just put a slightly different spin on it.

But thanks for the mention!

"my story was also inspired by Nowhere Man, I just put a slightly different spin on it."

I'm just reading Nowhere Man (about 1/3 through the first novel) and can certainly see the similarities. But I enjoyed the spin YOU put on it ... so, I'm glad I gave it a plug!

"But thanks for the mention!"

No wuckas, as we say down here :-)

@sadimlonely

And wouda you know, last night I just had a new 'alternate time travel' story just pop into my head, which will REALLY turn a few heads, based on a similar story I could never actually write years ago, about someone 'breaking time' and the cascading ripples that causes in reality (people who were dead coming back to life, other becoming active ghosts who certain people can see, and a time-traveling young girl who sets everything in motion).

Again, it may never see the light of day, but hot damn, this one I'm REALLY excited about, as it breaks ALL the rules! ;)

Again, it took a long time to figure out how to write that one time-travel story, and even then, it never quite worked out, despite repeated revisions and rewrites, yet my inner muse keeps at it, inspiring all new ideas based on the much earlier failed one. And sooner or later, my Muse and I are likely to hit a winning combination, or not, but who knows?

After all, who doesn't like breaking things on occasion?

Yeah, but cleaning up after is usually such a pain!
