The main character is a day walking vampire cop who lives on the East Coast in a failing boarding house run by his soul mates grandmother. The 3 grand children 2 girls and a boy moved from new Mexico because of their mother. The oldest daughter's been parenting her siblings for years. She's a high school teacher.
In one scene they are all eating and one of the other borders brings up cop history and makes an ass of him self.
