NVM found the story your talking about but unfortunately that's not the one I believe the story I'm looking for the boy had family and maybe a few sisters. I remember when they came back to America they lived in the south somewhere and built houses around the main compound or something like that

Unfortunately that's not the one but once I realized that maybe it was Scotland and not Ireland he's the first one I checked lol.
I believe you're thinking of Magic Ink III specifically.
Magic Ink is a very generational series at first; book 1 sets the universe up, Book 2 is about the children of Book 1's protagonists and book 3 chronicles the children of book 2's characters.
