Hi looking for an story and my search is failing me.
It was two stories covering different groups of people.
It's based in Australia and cover the survival during an zombie apocalypse.
The zombies was caused by an mutation of Ebola virus and Mars meteorite.
One story is in a city and they uses an old prison for an fortress. Other story is in the outback.

A group of girls and 1 guy are immune because they got some hpv shot from the boys mom
And the shot contained some type of ape dna that had the original unmutated space virus
One of the stories ends with someone one of the apes cared about getting bit by a zombie and somehow the ape knew that if she bit her too she'd probably get better
The ape felt people that were infected were evil or had a darkness or something like that
Ernest story is about a father/soldier who was mistakenly declared dead in combat but came back to take care of his family
Had an look and would have remembered if it was an Ernest story but even without checking the writing style and story flow is much different.
I may have given the wrong title. I thought Ernest had written a zombie apocalypse story. But Ernest had a very distinctive writing style so he can't be the author.
A search for Australia, Zombie and Ebola didn't turn up any likely candidates.

Ernest stories are some of the best story ideas and I have read loads of them. My description of his writing style is military after action report style. But in the end the unique story ideas win for me over the story flow. Just read them on days I can give it my full attention.
Zombie is a story by Ernest about a soldier returning to his family after being declared dead for several years. It is set in Australia. He also wrote a story about a zombie apocalypse called The Contagion. That one is set in the US. Neither of which is the one islakkie is looking for. Unfortunately I am 99% sure I have not read the one he is looking for.
