American soldier goes to Vietnam. (I believe he's in the special forces) Leads mission after mission with the help of some Vietnamese guys.after some missions he goes to the Vietnamese village and gets drunk with them. On one of the missions they hide in tree's because they encounter crocodile's.the VC don't know about the Crocs so they get eaten.
I remember the story fairly well. It was definitely on SOL. It was presented as a series of military operations and was very entertaining. I can't remember the title or author and I've been unable to find it using 'advanced search'. I hope it hasn't been removed.
