Trying to remember the name of a story (series?) I read on here. Not a clue as to the title and can't remember the main plot either.
But I do remember some of the minor incidents that occur in the story:
MC going to college at young age (15-16?) somewhere with crappy winters... while there he meets and encourages this guy that designed his own bike to produce them for sale and even provides him a workshop at the place he lives (converted warehouse?). Has pilot's license even though he is too young. Flies mapping patterns over the great lakes. At one point rescues some stranded coeds whose vehicle broke down in the snow and after finding out that their local housing has no heat, he moves them into his converted warehouse as well. There is some espionage as well relating to his aerial mapping activities and he ends up as an officer in the military.
