Plot: Military man ( or - ? - reservist ) tells how he was in charge of a re-education camp for women. A political party cheats on an election one time too often. So - a bunch of states secede from the Union. In order to make sure people of the opposite political view do NOT do sabotage their ( the secessionists ) efforts they ( the opposite political view people ) are rounded up and put into re-education camps ( NOTE: re-education, NOT - like WWII era detention or extermination - camps. )
Although - at first - brutal methods have to be, and are, used to get the attention of the detainees [ and to show them ( the detainees ) that the guards and people in charge are serious about what they are doing. ]
Eventually re-education is having the detainees watch various movies with a patriotic themes.
Meanwhile the narrator ( guy in overall charge of the camp ) of the story forms a relationship with one of the detainees - a Muslim lady lawyer.
