An older story of some length. A young man, I believe named after the General, is a student at Gettysburg College. He goes back home to Texas and meets a divorcee who works for the family ranch. He acquires minas and learns to drill water wells, among other adventures.
I think it was written by a guy who actually taught at GC. We emailed several years ago, but he had cancer, so perhaps he is gone.
