Having a CRS moment here. Storyline starts with husband and wife at some sort of party or dance with friends. Friends cover for wife who leaves with a friend/coworker/high school sweetheart (?). Husband gets pissed at the friends for enabling wife to, I think the phase used was "find her happiness" or something like that. He ended up writing all his friends off and maybe moving away? There was some BTB elements in there, too, though I can't remember what it was. I think it may have been a multi-chapter story, but not sure how long it was now.
Was thinking it was from Saddletramp1956, but dug through his stories a bit and couldn't find it.
Editied to add, I think it may have been set in Australia, but again, I can't be sure about that. read too many lately trying to find it so may be mixing several storylines together with location.
