3 book series about a group of miniature people (kind of like The Borrowers). Starts with a young man from a small family group of these people who comes across more of them who are living in a store/mall type place. The place is being shut down and scheduled for demolition so they have to come up with a plan to move everyone to someplace safe. As the series progresses it turns out that these miniature people are actually from another planet and crashed on Earth (if I remember correctly) with the young man's family being separated from the main group years previously. They eventually find their way back to their ship to try to fix it so they can go back to their home planet. That is all the plot I can remember but I think the name of one of the books (not sure which one) is something like "Truckers" or similar. Any help would be appreciated.
