Thank you very much! I'VE FOUND AS MY AGE GOES UP MY MEMORY REACTS JUST THE OPPOSITE, i.e. GOING WAAAAY DOWN.
It is a great series, and started out really strong. The first 4 books were exceptional, but after that they really started to slip.
And as it constantly retconned them as he was writing, that could sometimes make it hard to follow. And to be honest, the last book was published after his death and is barely readable.
But I suggest the first 4 strongly to anybody that loves alternate history with a fair share of anachronisms thrown in.
